The dream of the 1990s is alive and well on Nickelodeon, where Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell set to reunite for the revival of Double Dare. The comedic duo will go head to head in an upcoming episode of the relaunched game show, to air later this summer. The new Double Dare premiered Monday, with new host Liza Koshy joined by Marc Summers, who returned to provide color commentary. Like its predecessor, the series has teams compete through answering trivia questions and completing physical challenges, culminating in a race through an elaborate obstacle course for the grand prize. RELATED: “I am so excited to be playing on Double Dare and for whole new generation of kids to experience this iconic game show,” Mitchell told . “This episode will be double special because Kenan and I will be playing against each other and we are both huge fans of Double Dare! The pair became an instant hit with television audiences with skits like “Good Burger,” which inspired a 1997 film of the same name. Thompson and Mitchell later received their own Nickelodeon sitcom, the appropriately titled Kenan & Kel, which ran for four seasons, from 1996 to 2000, ending with a TV movie. Also known as the image of He-Man’s alter ego, Prince Adam, laughing against a sparking, rainbow-colored backdrop is actually taken from a viral video created by SlackCircus Studios in which the defender of Eternia performs … “What’s Going On” by 4 Non Blondes. It’s downright iconic. Now, just in time for Comic-Con International, Super7 has announced its convention-exclusive Masters of the Universe offerings, which include — you guessed it! — a Laughing Prince Adam action figure. It comes with a pink power sword, naturally, and rainbow packaging, to complete the video/meme effect. RELATED: The company will also offer She-Ra and the Horde Keshi Surprise Boxes and She-Ra v.s.
