Last week, a report surfaced broke that by an unnamed screenwriter. While the future of the MCU following next year’s Avengers 4 is still largely unclear, the possibility of a villainous inversion of Marvel’s premier superteam certainly offers an intriguing thought about where the cinematic universe could go next. That having been said, the MCU’s various original series on Netflix may have already been quietly laying the foundation for their own supervillain ensemble to possibly team up and take on the Defenders. As opposed to the films of the MCU, which have a habit of killing off many of their principal antagonists, the Marvel Netflix series has retained the majority of their villains, leaving open the possibility of them returning in the future. And, just like the comic book incarnation of the Dark Avengers, these Dark Defenders would be familiar faces with similar power sets to their heroic counterparts, setting up a climactic battle between both teams with all the street-level heroes facing each other’s villains after seasons of escalating grudges. RELATED: Bullseye has been one of Daredevil’s greatest enemies as much as the Kingpin since his creation in 1976’s Daredevil #131 written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by John Romita, Sr. Responsible for the deaths of Elektra and Karen Page, the uncanny marksman with the superhuman ability to throw any object with lethal accuracy and force quickly became one of Matt Murdock’s most personal foes, and even masqueraded as Hawkeye as part of the Dark Avengers for a time. With in the third season of Daredevil, the new villain of Hell’s Kitchen could be part of an ensemble organized and financed by Wilson Fisk to root out the Man Without Fear and his allies for good. Additionally, as he did in the comics, the villain will impersonate Daredevil to discredit the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the eyes of the authorities and general public. Hold they decide to make their play even bigger, the nefarious duo would certainly not be at a loss of potential recruits to enlist in their sinister crusade. RELATED: Both of Luke Cage‘s principal antagonists, Season 1’s Diamondback and Season 2’s Bushmaster, have survived, and are thus set up for possible returns to Harlem. Given that Mustafa Shakir’s Bushmaster can stand toe-to-toe with Cage without the use of a powered exosuit like Diamondback (not to mention receiving a better fan response), he’s the more likely to return from his Jamaican exile, though Cage’s half-brother could resurface, even without the technological enhancement, given the personal nature of his connection to the Hero of Harlem. Less than three months after it was announced that The CW's Arrowverse, we finally get to see Ruby Rose as Batwoman in full costume! The TV network officially released the first look at the former Orange Is the New Black actress in Kate Kane's signature red wig and Bat Family cowl, looking pretty similar to the . Rose will make her caped-crusader debut during Elseworlds, the three-day crossover event among the popular DC series Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. Elseworlds will focus on the Arrowverse heroes traveling to Gotham City where they will team up with Batwoman after a doctor at Arkham Asylum cooks up some wild and destructive machinations. Rose's batsuit was designed by Oscar-winning designer Colleen Atwood who also created the costumes featured on Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. Last time we saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) at the close of Season 6, the superhero had traded in his green hood and bow for the garb of a prisoner. Queen struck a deal with the authorities that would save his friends from persecution, and now he was bound to be locked up in a supermax prison filled with inmates the Green Arrow helped put away. Now, thanks to a new trailer for the Season 7 premiere of the series, we know that trouble will come for Oliver and his friends from all sides. Not only will the former vigilante fight to survive every single day of his stay in prison, but the threat of Ricardo “The Dragon” Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) is still looming over Star City — and he won’t be coming alone. RELATED: In the Season 6 finale, Diaz revealed that he had reached out to the Longbow Hunters, a legendary team of assassins that even Oliver and Diggle (David Ramsey) had heard about. Their identities were kept a secret, and it was teased that they had been around for a very, very long time. Well now, thanks to the new Season 7 trailer, we finally have our first look at the legendary assassins. In the comic books, the Longbow Hunters were a team put together by Richard Dragon to oppose the Green Arrow. The group included Count Vertigo, Brick, Red Dart, and Killer Moth, and they were led by Dragon himself. For Season 7 of Arrow, the Hunters will actually be different. Instead of being put together by Diaz, they appear to have a history prior to him, and he will only be the one to hire them. Plus, the series’ version of the team’s roster is different, given that it is comprised of Kodiak, seen as the Leader of the Shield Clan in the Green Arrow comic book storyline “The Outsiders War,” as well as The Silencer, an assassin who was just recently introduced as part of the New Age of DC Heroes. The only character bother versions of the team share is Red Dart. When the series returns next week, we should find out more about the secret history of the Longbow Hunters, and just what makes them so mythical. RELATED: Returning on Monday, Oct. 15 at 8 pm ET/PT for its seventh season on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
