Nearly a week until its premiere and a new scene from Star Wars Resistance shows a prickly introduction between its protagonist and the team’s mechanic.
The upcoming Star Wars animated series takes place shortly before the events of 2015’s The Force Awakens following hotshot pilot Kaz as he’s tasked personally by Poe Dameron to keep an eye on the First Order while posing as a competitive racer. When Poe’s friend Yeager introduces him to his new ship, the young pilot makes a bad first impression with the mechanic Tam.

“That thing’s a disaster!” exclaims Kaz as he sees the condition of his new ride.
“Disaster?!” shouts Tam as she emerges from working on another ship. “You’ve never flown a better ship than this one, kid.”

As Kaz tries to make amends to the team’s mechanic, it’s clear Tam has a special appreciation for the new pilot’s vessel putting a whole new level of expectation on Kaz as he tries to prove himself.
Premiering on October 7 on the Disney Channel, Star Wars Resistance stars Christopher Seam (Days of Our Lives), Bobby Moynihan (Ducktales), Suzie McGarth(EastEnders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera (A Fowl American).
